Should I Use Notion to Manage my Website’s Content?

If you're someone who likes to have strict control over the content, constantly update it from anywhere, and feel comfortable with how Notion works, then I can confidently say that it's a very good option for you.

How Can I Do It?

If you do a search on the internet, you will find a good number of options. In my opinion, these are the best ones you will come across, and the ones I’ll be comparing today.

My Personal Approach

My personal website, landing pageAn article from my personal website

This is the way I made my website. You can either implement it yourself using libraries like react-notion-x and the official notion-sdk-js, or you can contact me, and I will personally set up everything and teach you how it works. If you are interested, click here.

⬆️ Benefits

100% managed from Notion. It does not require registration on another platform.
Guided experience. You don't start from scratch; I will provide you with an initial design and customization based on your needs. Plus, direct contact with me when you need help.
Minimalist and modern design out of the box.
SEO optimization and high loading speed.
It's perfect for portfolios or personal pages. Ideal for writing articles, like this one.

⬇️ Downsides

Not for everyone. It's specific to people willing to have a content-rich and valuable website.
Restricted customization. You can choose the background and images you want, but you are limited to some options for styles, fonts, and themes
Due to optimization requirements, the changes you make in Notion can take up to a few hours to take effect.

Price: From $16 to $28 per month, depending on the user's needs. Offers a free trial.

⬆️ Benefits

Very easy and fast to get started. Provides templates for every need.
SEO optimization and high loading speed.
Highly customizable. Everything can be edited by the user through the settings menu in super.so. It includes a component library.
Very popular, many brands use it to provide an interface for their products or services.

⬇️ Downsides

It tries to offer functionality for a lot of use cases, which makes customization a little complex. Having too many options and different ways to achieve certain looks can make it difficult for people who are not invested in design or web development.
Requires an account on super.so, from which customization is managed.

Potion.so
